is recruiting a Senior Account Manager: Sales – Marine & Power Plant Services for this well-known Japanese market leader.  The incumbent will be responsible for developing the Service Sales business in South Africa and neighboring countries.

• Manage sales activities and customer relationships for Key Accounts in order to reach sales and margin targets and customer satisfaction.
• Develop, report and assume accountability for sales and sold margin budget among assigned customer accounts.
• Segmentation of customer base and delivering appropriate services solutions to the relevant segments.
• Proactively identify and target new customers, develop good business opportunities, and able to follow though and close the deal.
• Generate sales in line with assigned targets and expectations.
• Manage and develop customers’ relationships and drive customers' satisfaction action plan.
• Create account plans for certain key accounts, execute the account plans and update as required.
• Prepare monthly reports and make sales estimates.
• Cooperate and coordinate sales activities for global or cross country operating customers with responsible colleagues.
• Ensure that customer inquiries, orders and complaints are responded to in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
• Proactively manage collection time and receivables.
• Gather sound market intelligence for internal distribution to management team.

• A South African citizen (non-negotiable)
• Currently or recently been employed in a similar position

• A Bachelor degree / National Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification with related experience
• At least 4-5 years sales experience in marine and power plant services (front-line sales/key account management) with a proven track record.
• Experience in solution selling highly desirable.
• Experience in negotiating contract/ service agreements at different organizational levels.
• Experience in building good business relationships with senior management in customer organization.
• Very good communication, presentation, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Good command of English: read, write and speak.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with good time management skills and has a passion to grow the business.
• Sales contractual and legal skills
• Ability to understand customers' key requirements, translate information into commercial offers and is able to upsell.
• Must possess a sense of urgency in order to get tasks done on time in full.
• Must be able and willing to travel locally and internationally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good relationship builder (internal and external).
• Sales process & tools knowledge.
• Good track record of achieving sales targets.
