Cowan International’s client, a dynamic General Contractor with its extensive portfolio of institutional, commercial and civil heavy industrial projects, is looking to fill a critical Crushing and Civil Engineering Superintendent position.

Reporting to the DG, the Crushing and Civil Engineering Superintendent will be responsible for supervising the execution of civil works, infrastructure, concreting and crushing. The selected candidate will also play an active role supporting the company’s management of mobile equipment assets, including fleet maintenance.

Play a lead role in supporting the realisation of major civil and infrastructure projects as well as in rock crushing activities
Coordinate and manage site resources and subcontractors (operators, laborers, surveyors, laboratory technicians, mechanics, plumbers, electricians, welders, concrete finishers, etc.)
Participate in the estimation process for civil engineering, infrastructure, concreting or crushing projects.

CCQ competency card holder (Commission de la Construction du Québec) - considered an important asset
ASP Certified – considered an asset
A problem solver and a solid decision maker
Experienced managing mobile crushing plant equipment
Proficient in reading plans and analyzing specs
A strong communicator (demonstrated written and spoken aptitudes), with site resources, subcontractors, professionals and (most especially) Management
A team player
A hard worker, capable of quality professional work
Proficient in both French and English (both written and spoken)

Travel regularly to remote job sites on a FIFO roster
Work periodically in an office environment in the Montreal area
Participate in capital asset investment projects and in decision-making activities related to equipment management

10 years of relevant experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on construction sites
Bachelors or technical degree in a related field – considered an asset, but not essential
Experience in soil analysis, laboratory, granulometry, compaction tests - considered an asset
Experience in large scale civil, infrastructure or aggregate production projects
