Cowan South Africa is recruiting a Business Unit Manager – Certification, Quality, Audit & Improvement for this expanding Australian company focused on Certification, Inspection, Testing, Verification and Audits.


• Manage and grow the Quality, Certification, Audit and Improvement Business Unit across multiple regions and business streams
• Drive and effectively manage the sales efforts and processes via the development and implementation of sales plans and teams
• Responsible for implementation of business strategy and managing allocated budget
• Manage Key Customer Relationships and engage with Key Customers
• Ensure that all services are delivered to defined SOP’s and quality standards
• Ensure that all client requirements are met or exceeded
• Optimize the cost of service delivery to ensure maximum profit levels are delivered


• Currently (or was recently) employed in a similar position with a company from the Certification, Verification, Testing and Inspection Industry and with hands-on knowledge and experience
• Passionate about quality and are known for your leadership and communication skills
• A South African citizen or have Permanent Residency


• A relevant Degree or Diploma
• Any additional qualifications (MBA, Financial Management) will be very advantageous
• Good experience working at Group level, across numerous sites and business streams
• Must be experienced with ISO 9001 management and compliance
• Exposure to ISO 17025 will be well regarded, but not essential
• A strong operational focus
• Experience with managing business units / branches in multiple countries and driving regional P&L will be advantageous
• A track record of operational success
